An independent jury of experts in photojournalism, fine art and conceptual work carefully assess twelve shortlisted portfolios and chose the winner of what is now widely acknowledged as one of the world's most prestigious prizes in photography.

This year, as the prize marks its tenth cycle under the theme of 'Human', we are delighted to announce the People's Choice Award.

An addition, we hope will allow those with a passion for photography and a desire to engage with art to vote for their standout photographer.

The voting window closes on the last day of the exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum on 22 October 2023. The winner of the People's Choice Award will be announced online on the 23 October 2023, and will receive a prize of 10.000 Swiss francs.
