The Prix Pictet is widely acknowledged as one of the most esteemed prizes in photography.

During ten cycles, the Prix Pictet has addressed the themes of Water, Earth, Growth, Power, Consumption, Disorder, Space, Hope, Fire and Human. More than 5,000 photographers have been nominated to date, with over 120 exhibitions in 48 cities across 27 countries.

The theme for the eleventh cycle, announced in the opening week of Les Rencontres d'Arles, is Storm.
