As we commemorate the Prix Pictet's 10th cycle, we reflect upon the remarkable photography journey that has accompanied its growth in this short video produced with the Financial Times. Since its inception in 2008 with honorary President Kofi Annan to the latest theme reveal at the Rencontres d'Arles, the Prix Pictet has continuously harnessed the power of photography to shed light on pressing global issues of sustainability. With its current theme, Human, the Prix Pictet demonstrates its unwavering commitment to capturing and addressing these crucial matters.
The Prix Pictet is widely acknowledged as one of the most esteemed prizes in photography.
During ten cycles, the Prix Pictet has addressed the themes of Water, Earth, Growth, Power, Consumption, Disorder, Space, Hope, Fire and Human. More than 5,000 photographers have been nominated to date, with over 120 exhibitions in 48 cities across 27 countries.
The theme for the eleventh cycle, announced in the opening week of Les Rencontres d'Arles, is Storm.
