Renaud de Planta

Renaud de Planta served as Managing Partner of the Pictet Group from 1998 until his retirement in 2024.
From 2019 to 2024 he was Senior Managing Partner and chairman of the Group Executive Committee.
During the 1999 to 2017 period Renaud was also CEO and then Chairman of the institutional Asset Management division of the Pictet Group Holding SA.
Since retiring, Renaud de Planta joined the Supervisory Board of the Pictet Group and chairs the board of the Pictet Group Foundation.
He is also a member of the Supervisory Board (Bank Council) of the Swiss National Bank, Switzerland’s Central Bank.
Before his time at Pictet, Renaud spent 12 years with UBS, where he held various management positions, among them North Asia CEO for the UBS Group, based in Hong Kong, and ultimately serving as Global Head of Equity Derivatives at UBS Warburg in London.
Renaud holds an MBA from the University of Chicago and a doctorate (PhD) in Financial Economics from the University of St Gallen.
He was a Board member of the Swiss Bankers Association and sits on the boards of several academic institutions, including the International Center for Monetary and Banking Studies and the University of Chicago – Booth School of Business (Global Advisory Board). Additionally, he is on the board of various charitable organizations and foundations.
