Consumption Commission
The Fifth Commission has been granted to Colombian Juan Fernando Herrán. He will undertake a series of field trips to examine the relevance of mass-produced consumer goods to the basic needs of indigenous communities in remote areas of Colombia. His photographic project will be informed by a dialogue with Pictet’s charity partner, OneAction.
Geneva-based OneAction have a distinguished track record for the production of sustainability projects in Latin America. OneAction’s collaborative project with the Institute of Research, Education and Public Promotion of Ecuador (INEPE) is being supported by Pictet. The photographs that Herrán makes for this project will be exhibited in London in 2015, and will be accompanied by a catalogue.
